Thanks to the fabulous tour by art aficionado Christy Parry, we had a marvelous time at the museum. The girls were interested in every room we visited, especially Christy's "secret spots."
Some of the take-aways from the lecture:
- art tells a story and/or evokes a mood
- sometimes the stories aren't pleasant
- watch for how artists use negative space
- we can find stories we know in classic art- Seventh Plague of Egypt, Stories of Jesus, Dionysus and Ariadne, etc.

| *No art was harmed or even touched in the making of these pictures |
 |
| Chihuly Icicle Tower |
 |
| The girls enjoyed re-enacting and re-interpreting the art |
 |
| Moving! Flying! |
 |
| Ellie was looking for this piece of art (which also hangs in her bedroom) the entire visit. Her rapture when we finally found it cannot be contained in pictures. |
 |
| Not all stories are pleasant (spoiler- there's a head in that urn) |

What a magical evening thanks in large part to Sister Parry. This activity fulfills the
fifth item under Faith in God: Developing Talents.
And more photos thanks to Keith Jensen (and special thanks to Brother Jensen and Sister Beutler for accompanying our group! We love having parents along.):
Attendance: Brinley, Bryn, Elisa, Aubrey, Olivia, Ellie, Claire, Ansley, Cailee, Mackenzie, and Alice
Thank you so much for organizing this, and creating a blog so those who missed out can get a sneak peek at the fun. My girls came home raving about how awesome everything was last night. And Keith had a great time as well (thanks for letting him tag a long). Thank you, Christy, Cami, and Corey for a fabulous activity!!
