Diaper Depot Service Project

In continuation of our Diaper drive we held late last year (when we collected more than 800 diapers)! We went to the Diaper Depot and help them sort/package diapers to get them ready for their storeroom.

Women in STEM and egg drop

Michelle led an egg-cellent activity about women in STEM, with material taken from this website. Afterward, we unleashed the girls' inner engineers as they designed egg-drop pods and tested them from the roof of my car.

Sewing in Newton

The Newton Sewing Studio was the perfect place to accommodate 13 young sewers! They had more than enough sewing machines for everyone and plenty of help for any questions that arose. And great news, nobody asked for special accommodations with the studio dog Chester. The pillow projects were a joy to watch in motion. Thanks to Margaret, Sarah, and Paula for helping out with the activity and to the Laughmans for donating the experience.

Yoga with Janna W.

Janna provided a great night of meditation, relaxation, and fun with her yoga class. toward the end, she had the girls play a game where they had written emotions on a notecard, and somebody chose an emotion from the stack, then picked two body parts and then the rest of the class had to come up with a pose balancing on those two body parts and evoking that chosen emotion (a bit like Yogo mixed with Twister- maybe we can call it Yo-ster-ga). It was an instant hit.

New Year Pajama Party

Michelle gave a lesson on Goals (remember the acronym "SMART") and then the girls made a time capsule to be opened up next year. Then we played Jeopardy! with a few clues tailored to the things the girls had shared in our "catch-up minute".

Christmas Party

We played Minute to Win it Christmas themed games and had treats.
